Minecraft Legends is a bold new direction for the series, taking all the blocks, mobs, diamond swords and more that you know from the survival classic, and transforming them into a fully-fledged action strategy game – and thanks to a new showing during Developer_Direct, we now know it will arrive for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC and Cloud and more on April 18, 2023 (and will be a part of Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on day one).
During Developer_Direct, we met a few members of the team working on the game at Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive for a new taste of what’s to come, including an in-depth look at PvP gameplay. Yes, alongside a story-led campaign in which you reclaim the Overworld from a Piglin invasion, you’ll also be able to take part in 4v4 battles against your friends, enemies, and frenemies.
The Deluxe Edition and Skin Pack
When it launches, you’ll be able to get hold of two versions of Minecraft Legends, the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition, which includes the base game and the Deluxe Skin pack for a discounted price. You can read all about the extra benefits you get through the Deluxe Edition right now on Minecraft.net.
Pre-orders for Minecraft Legends are open now, allowing you to get ready to save the Overworld well in advance of April 18. And if you want to know more about the game, stay tuned to Xbox Wire, because we have an interview with the developers about PvP, how the game adapts classic Minecraft ideas for a brand new genre, and much more!
