Knotroot is a resource you’ll have to find in Lego Fortnite if you want to level up your village or make better weapons and tools. It’s not immediately obvious where to find it, though.
Our Lego Fortnite guide will explain where to find knotroot and what you’ll use it for.
How to find knotroot in Lego Fortnite
Knotroot grows in caves, so to find knotroot, you first have to find a cave. Which is really just a matter of wandering around until one pops up on your map.
Inside caves, you’ll probably find plenty of regular wood, but what you’re after are the gnarled-looking roots — those are knotroot. Since it’s a root (it’s right there in the name), they’ll be growing through the walls and ceiling. If they’re out of reach, you can always grab some of that regular wood to build some stairs.
To gather knotwood (or even damage it), you’ll need an uncommon forest axe (or better). To make one of those, you’ll need 3 bone (from killing skeletons) and 3 wooden rods (from a lumber mill).
What you’ll use knotroot for in Lego Fortnite
Knotroot is kind of a gateway resource that unlocks a new tier of items. With knotroot rods from a lumber mill, you can make an uncommon pickaxe to mine marble or an uncommon longsword for taking on enemies.
Knotroot wood itself is also one of the resources you need to upgrade your village to level 4.
