If you do have a slew of Zelda amiibos, you can get some exclusive costumes and useful drops for your time, some of which is locked behind story progression.
Here’s how amiibo support works in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, from functionality to the rewards you receive.
How does Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom amiibo functionality work?
First, know you can only use amiibos from The Legend of Zelda series in Echoes of Wisdom. This means no Animal Crossing amiibo cards, no Splatoon amiibos — none of that. All of these will say they’re not compatible, so put your huge stash of amiibo cards away.
Second, you can only scan three amiibo per day for rewards. After beating the Hyrule Castle part of the game, you’ll get three bonus scans one time.

Scanning any Zelda amiibo before you beat Hyrule Castle will net you some smoothie ingredients or monster stones. You can even get the rare golden eggs this way, but we only had this happen once in our dozens of scans.
Scanning a Zelda amiibo after you beat Hyrule Castle can net you some outfits on your first scan. The outfits and amiibos that unlock them are as follows:
The costumes are mostly cosmetic, though the Black Cat Costume will allow you to talk to the cats littered throughout Hyrule. It should be noted that there is another cat costume that has the same effect that you’ll get from a side quest in Kakariko Village (“Questioning the Local Cats”), so there’s nothing locked behind amiibo that will give you a direct advantage in the game.
Scanning amiibos after this will continue to net you smoothie ingredients, like twisted pumpkins, refreshing grapes, the aforementioned golden eggs, or monster stones. Here’s a list of all the ingredients we’ve been able to get:
