PlayStation Plus subscribers itching for a reason to hop back into the grand world of Final Fantasy 7 since the release of Rebirth will have an easy way to do so. PlayStation Plus subscribers’ free Essential games for July include Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, Remnant 2, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, and more. Those games will hit the subscription service starting on July 16 for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium users, the company announced on Wednesday.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is the HD remake of the prequel to the original Final Fantasy 7. You play as Zack Fair, Cloud Strife’s friend from his days at SOLDIER. Square Enix first released Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 stateside to the PlayStation Portable in 2008. Reunion brings the original game back, with updated graphics, combat systems, and music, while retaining the story from the 2008 game. And soon, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to play it for free.
If you aren’t a Final Fantasy 7 head, that’s cool, too. There are plenty of other options coming in July. Remnant 2, the sequel to the beloved third-person shooter, Remnant: From the Ashes, is also coming to the subscription service. The game will support solo and co-op modes as people team up to fight against the many monstrosities in the game’s hellish worlds. Or if you want something a little lighter, you can get together with friends and play The Jackbox Party Pack 9, which will be coming to the service as well.
