If you’ve bought the Season 1 battle pass, you’ll want to know the best RAM-7 loadout in Modern Warfare 3. This assault rifle isn’t unlocked immediately, so you’ll need to progress the battle pass before you can get your hands on it, but once you do, you’ll rarely want to put it down.
Also featuring in our list of the best guns in MW3, the RAM-7 is a fast-firing automatic assault rifle with a fair amount of kick, so to utilize it effectively, you’ll want to manage that while kitting it out for mid-range engagements. You’ll also want to stick an extended mag of some form on there because you can burn through the bullets fairly quickly.
Here are our attachment picks for the best RAM-7 loadout in Modern Warfare 3, and how to unlock the gun in the first place.
How to unlock the RAM-7 in MW3
In Modern Warfare 3 Season 1, you can unlock the RAM-7 by progressing the battle pass and completing sector A7. The quickest path here is along the bottom, completing A1, A3, then A6, so to complete all four sectors, you’ll need a minimum of 20 battle pass tokens. Thankfully, the RAM-7 is one of the free rewards in the battle pass so you don’t need to purchase it, but you can earn battle pass tokens quicker this way.
Best RAM-7 loadout in MW3
Here is the best RAM-7 loadout in Modern Warfare 3:
- Barrel: Boreal-6C Suppressed Barrel
- Underbarrel: XTEN Phantom-5 Handstop
- Magazine: 40 Round Mag
- Rear Grip: Retort 90 Grip Tape
- Comb: FT Polycomb
As mentioned above, the goal with this RAM-7 loadout is to strike the fine balance between damage, recoil, and mobility. The Boreal-6C Suppressed Barrel is the most important attachment here, as it offers a huge buff to bullet velocity and range while also making you undetectable by radar, and the debuffs to ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds aren’t too high.
You do want to account for that with the other attachments though, which is where the XTEN Phantom-5 Handstop comes in. The FT Polycomb and Retort 90 Grip Tape both generally assist with weapon control, while the 40 Round Mag ensures you shouldn’t run out of bullets mid-fight. We haven’t included an optic for this build because the RAM-7 iron sights are typically serviceable, but if you find yourself in more long-range engagements, consider whacking on a red dot or holographic sight in place of the Magazine, Rear Grip, or Comb attachments.
Best RAM-7 class in Modern Warfare 3
Here is the best class to use alongside the RAM-7 in Modern Warfare 3:
- Vest: Assassin Vest
- Handgun: Renetti
- Tactical: Stun Grenade
- Lethal: Semtex
- Gloves: Marksman Gloves
- Boots: Covert Sneakers
- Gear: EOD Padding
The Assassin Vest is the brand-new vest introduced with Season 1. In exchange for your Field Upgrade slot, you gain the ability of being completely immune to enemy UAV and radar effects, so combined with the suppressed barrel, you’ll never show up on the enemy radar. The other added bonus is kills don’t display skulls, which is helpful when you’re playing against especially clever enemies who keep an eye out for those and you want to play stealthily.
The rest of the build is fairly straightforward. The Renetti is still the best sidearm in the game, while the Stun Grenade and Semtex throwables are bog standard — switch these for the Flash Grenade and/or Frag Grenade if you prefer them. The Marksman Gloves are ideal during combat as they help you stay on target, while the Covert Sneakers assist with stealthy escapades. If you don’t want to sneak behind enemies — or you find that enemies aren’t hearing your footsteps much anyway — stick the Stalker Boots on instead. Finally, the EOD Padding is the best gear in the game as it protects you from grenades.
